Colonoscopy is a procedure that allows examination of the large intestine (colon), as a method of diagnosis of various diseases of the colon, and the treatment of certain pathologies. The colonoscope is a flexible tube provided with a video camera, an insufflation channel through which air or water is introduced, a suction channel for various liquid residues left in the intestine and a channel through which various working instruments can be introduced for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, polypectomy loops, needles, catheters).
